Side Step Cards

I hope you are all having a good weekend. Im enjoying mine.
I have been playing with some ideas I have found on the net and changed the measurements to our measurements for cards. This one is what I call a side step card and I love it. I have cased a lovely card with water coloured roses on and also made one using Lovely as a Tree and 24-7. If you would like the new measurements leave me a comment and I will get them to you once I have written them up.

Parchment Card

Wow don't the days go by fast. its been over a week since I have posted on here. I did have 2 workshops which was great as I haven't had any workshops for quite awhile. Anyway today I have a parchment card to show you. This card is one that I taught the girls here yesterday. It was quite relaxing getting back to parchment. This is a very soft card in the mauve colour. The original I had done was a bright pink.

6 x 6 Scrapbook Page

I decided to have a go at a 6 x 6 page so I could use it as a make and Take. I used a layout I had seen of Makeesha's which I think she did from a card sketch. Anyway with a photo of my darling Emily at 18 months this is what I came up with. I used Baja Breeze and Pink Pirouette which I rolled with the So Swirly roller and then added some Rose Red and Pacific Point.

Updated Scrapbook Page

I have been looking at my page I did the other day and decided that I did want to put something more on it so I added another photo of Emily taken the same day. What do you think about the updated page?
I took it to my scrapbook workshop today and while I wasnt watching one of the young children there grabbed it with lovely biscuit mush all over her hands so now I will be doing it all over again. The photos are ok so Im lucky there.

Scrapbook Page

It has been a number of years since I have done any scrapbooking. I have decided to branch into scrapbooking with my Stampin' Up! business and have my first scrap workshop this week. I need some sample pages so I made one today using a sketch that I found on Makeesha's Blog.

I just showed Graham my finished page and he wanted to know what I was going to put up the top as it was bare there. I told him as it was a sketch challenge it was the way it was going to stay. What do you think of my first page in a very long time?
I used sage shadow 12 x 12 and pink pirouette patterns paper for the 6 x 6 down in the right corner. The stamp sets are Fifth Avenue Floral, Lovely Letter Alphabet, Frames with a Flourish and Wonderful Favourites.

Skye's 1st Birthday

My beautiful Skye

Today is Skye's 1st Birthday. We had a little party for her tonight. A couple of friends came over for dinner and then we gave Skye her cake. I know some of you think I am crazy but I had fun and Skye loved it too. her cake was a tin of dog food and I added a candle and birthday charm.

Buckle Card

I have been going to make a buckle card as shown on SCS for quite awhile now but never got around to it. Today I had a friend visit to stamp with me and she kindly gave me her measurements and tips for making the buckle card and then I made my version of it with A Rose is a Rose stamp set. I used the new IN colours Riding hood red and Kiwi Kiss with Choc Chip.

Happy Mother's Day

I hope everyone had a lovely Mother's Day yesterday. I had a quiet day as Graham went fishing and the kids slept until mid afternoon. The highlight of my day though was the present I received from my lovely daughter Emily. While we were out at a wedding on Saturday evening she painted me a picture on a canvas. It took her 4 hours and I love it. She looked at a picture on the net and just painted this rose on the canvas without washing her brush at all. Isn't it fantastic. Emily is 15 and likes art and is very good at looking at something and copying it.

Eastern Influences

This is the card I made with limited supplies on Saturday for the wedding. I didn't have any backgrounds but it came out ok. I did take my new wheel friendly words so that made a good background. Hopefully they will like it.

I'm Back

I have just had a lovely week down in Manjimup with my family. It was so nice down there. The weather was magnificent considering it is May. I helped with preparation for my nephews wedding which was yesterday. What a beautiful wedding on the farm. He married a lovely girl from Mongolia and 5 of her family came out for it. Everyone in the wedding party except the bride wore traditional Mongolian dress. It was great. This photo is of my sisters and brother with me. Its always nice to have the whole family together. I will post the card I made on Saturday for the wedding. Nothing like leaving things until the last minute.
