Sketch Challenge Soft Summer

Yesterday I actually managed to do a sketch challenge on the day I received it. SC239 at SCS. It is a nice easy one. I used the new set Soft Summer and used the new Parisian Breeze Specialty Designer Paper. I decided to keep to the one colour Baja Breeze with white. I'm not sure about it but hope to do a much brighter card with this same sketch. I'm home with a cold and don't have the energy to do anything much at the moment. Hopefully it wont hang around for too long.

A Wish For Peace changed colours

I taught some stamp a stacks in the past week and used this card as one of the cards. The ladies yesterday asked me to make the same card, in the tradtional christmas colours with a white dove, so this is what I made this morning. I like it, so thank you ladies for suggesting it. In this card I have used Ruby Red, Old Olive and Whisper White. I also changed the greeting to just Merry Christmas from Many Merry Messages.

Uncharted Territory

I have been busy making some cards with the new sets from the Spring Mini catalogue that begins on August 1st. This card is made using a sketch challenge and also using the colour coach for the colours. Colours used are Bordering Blue, Not Quite Navy, Sage Shadow and More Mustard. My friend Jennie and I spent a day making cards together and this is one. I really like this new set. The second photo is the same card with the addition of some seagulls.

A BIG Fish

I have been having a lovely week of holidays. On Monday I went fishing with my husband, Graham on the boat. I haven't been out with him for a very long time, as he usually goes with his mates, but when we woke to a lovely day on Monday and found that the ocean was going to be flat I decided to go and boy was I pleased I did, as Graham caught the biggest fish he has ever caught. It was so exciting. It is a Blue Marwong or commonly known as a Queen Snapper. It is 85cm and 7.5 kg. He can hardly hold it up for the photo. I cooked it up for tea that night and it was yummy.

Photo Editing Course

I have been doing an online Photo Editing Course using photoshop with JessicaSprague.com and it is so much fun, although unless you use it often it is so easy to forget what you have just learnt.
Below is a photo of Emily about 5 years ago taken by her step sister Critishia. They always have photos shoots whenever they get together. The second photo is my try at creating a vintage hand tinted look. What do you think?

Then we had to add a frame and some stars to the photo. There is so much that I would like to learn about photo editing but finding the time to play is the problem. I love the final effect and plan to play some more over the weekend.

Skye's latest Haircut

Skye has been with me for a year now and I have loved every day I've had her, even if she is naughty at times and chews everything and wee's in the wrong place on occasions. I found a new groomer for her so took her for her haircut today. The lovely couple who did her, misunderstood what I wanted and when I went to pick her up I didn't recognise her then I just laughed as she is so different. Above is a picture of before and then some after photos. Meeka our cat, doesn't recognise her and arches her back and hisses at her with all her hair standing on end. She is rather cute. What do you think? We just have never seen that much of her face before.

A Wish For Peace

I have made a couple more Christmas cards finally. I asked my good friend Sandra to come and visit to help me get into the creating mode. She reminded me that there were some nice Christmas cards in the Idea Book and catalogue so we cased this card made with A Wish for Peace and Soft Holly roller. The only difference is the shape of the card. I'm happy with the finished card. I didn't look up the colours so hopefully we got them right. I have used Baja Breeze with Not Quite Navy and Naturals ivory. I have used Choc Chip ink.
Why not give Casing the catalogue a go. Its an easy way to get back into creating.

First Christmas Card

July is here already and as I start my Christmas Stamp a Stacks in July, I thought it was about time I made some Christmas cards. This is my first effort. I don't know if this one is suitable for a SAS but I had fun making it so thought I would show you. As I haven't managed to get to my blog for a couple of weeks, you probably thought Id gone missing.

This card is a 10cm square card. I have used
Stamp set: Punches Three (hostess).
Card: Kiwi Kiss, Red Riding Hood, Whisper White and Holiday Treasures DP.
Accessories: Square Scallop Punch and Scallop edge punch, Mat Pack and pricking tool.
If you would like to know how to make the scalloped medallion you can find the tutorial on SCS here. I have just made a smaller one to top the first.
I hope you are all enjoying this sunny weekend. Hopefully it wont be so long 'til my next post.
