First Christmas Card for 2011

Hi again, As promised yesterday I am back to show you my first Christmas card for this year. Lee-Anne and I have decided to meet once a month and make Christmas cards. Yesterday I only got one made but will now be able to make more of the same one. I couldn't  really get into stamping too well yesterday so decided to use a sketch challenge that Richelle had with her but I didn't write down which one it was.
I used a set called Bells and Boughs that I got from a friend in the US. I used Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green.
have a lovely Sunday.

Inkspirations Challenge no 55

Hi there, if you are in Perth, I hope you are manging to keep cool in this terrible humid heat. It got to 40 degC today and then we had a lovely heavy shower of rain. It made it even more humid but the gardens got a drink so I was happy.
Yesterday I had a stamping day at my friend Lee-Anne's place and I was having a hard time getting going so decided to do the Inkspirations sketch challenge no 55. I have never done one before and got it done in time so was pleased with myself. I didn't take too many things with me so used the DSP that I had with me.  I used Elegant Soiree. The colours I used are Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze and Early Espresso. The stamp set is Upsy Daisy.

I made one Christmas card yesterday as well so will show you that tomorrow. Have a great Sunday

Emily got her P's

Hi there,
today I took Emily to take her perception test and get her license so she now has her P plates. yeah......
this now means I wont be driving her around everywhere, but I will be minus a car when she takes mine, until she gets her own car.
She did plan to go to get her license this morning but she slept all  morning as she had stayed up most of the night painting a picture for a friend. She designed and painted the picture and I think its great so I thought I would show it to you. Its on a canvas so the teal around the edge is the wall. What do you think?
I'll be back tomorrow with another card.

Just Believe Invitations

hello again, I hope you are having a good weekend.
In the past week or so I have been making the invitations for my 50th birthday party coming up in February. As most of the invites have been posted out I thought I would show you what I came up with.
People tend to think of mauve when I make cards so I thought it was time for a change so I started out making them in Marina Mist until I ran out of card stock, so I went through my retired stock and decided on using Pale Plum with a current colour Rich Razzleberry. I used my favourite embossing folder Vintage Wallpaper and borrowed a Martha Stewart punch from my friend. The shape is a nestabilities label 4 set.

It was about time I posted a card wasn't it. Well let me know what you think of my design. I tried to keep it simple since I was making 50 of them.
Enjoy your Sunday.

Stampin' Up! Bushfire Appeal

hello there, Wow 2 weeks into the New year and here I am posting my first blog post. I have no excuse for not blogging apart from pure laziness. Now that is being honest with you.....
One thing I have been doing is keeping up with the news of the flooding in Queensland. What absolute devastation for so many people. As they have done before Stampin' Up! have just announced what they have planned to raise funds for the flood appeal.
From the Home Office;

Australia Flood Appeal

13 January 2011
As flood waters continue to inundate Australia in what has been described as the worst flooding in 37 years, we express our deepest sympathies to those who have lost loved ones and homes and to those whose lives have been changed forever. We, like so many of you, feel a compelling need to lend support to all those who have been affected.
Stampin' Up! demonstrators have a long history of making a difference in the lives of others--especially when disaster strikes and the need is greatest. Nearly two years ago, we watched another tragedy unfold in Australia. Our hearts were touched as demonstrators, customers and friends joined together in support of the Bushfire Appeal. We've done it before and we can certainly do it again!
Please join with us by supporting the Australia Flood Appeal--a cause in which Stampin' Up! will donate $2 AUD of the retail value of sales from any stamp set (with a retail value of $30 or more) sold in Australia and New Zealand from 15 January through 15 February to the State Emergency Services in Queensland.

With Sale-a-bration starting soon, what a great way to buy stamps and maybe get some free ones, and be helping out the flood appeal as well. If you would like to place an order just email me or even better still get some friends together and host a workshop either in your home or mine and I will donate a further $10 to the appeal.
Hope to hear from you soon.
